Wolves Sack Mick McCarthy

CATEGORIES: Barclays Premier League, News, P45, Soccer | POSTED BY: | February 13, 2012 at 11:36 am

Mick McCarthy has become the first Premier League manager to walk the plank in 2012. Wolves announced the news this morning.

It comes after Wolves latest Premier League defeat yesterday 5-1 at home against West Brom. There has been mounting pressure from the fans over the last number of weeks with Mick only seeing the club pick up 14 points in 21 Premier League games.

Terry Connor will take charge of team training in the interim until a new manager is appointed.

Mick McCarthy  joined Wolves in July 2006 and led the Club to the Championship title in the 2008/2009 campaign, before keeping the Club in the Barclays Premier League for the past two seasons.

So what’s next for Mick? There is quite a big possibility he will take over as the new manager of Leeds United, after they sacked Simon Grayson recently, McCarthy has a history of taking teams to promotion glory so this may be the perfect role for him.

As for Wolves there are a few candidates who may be in the running for the managers job, one of them may me Alan Curbishley or even Gordon Strachan.
