The dream final is set: Manchester United will face Barcelona on May 28th at Wembley Stadium.

The Red Devils made easy work of Schalke 04, beating the Bundesliga club, 4-1, and 6-1 on aggregate, at Old Trafford tonight

Antonio Valencia scores

Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad received two goals from Anderson, one goal from Darron Gibson, and one goal from Antonio Valencia.

Schalke’s lone goal came in the 35th minute thanks to Jose Jugado, and some questionable defending from a Manchester United defence that was missing Nemanja Vidic, and Rio Ferdidand.

It was a convincing victory for Manchester United, who rested several starters for an upcoming clash with Chelsea.

The first half started out slow, but then the attacking picked up in the final 20 minutes, as Gibson has been the man of the match.

Valencia scored in the 26th minute off a fantastic through ball from Gibson. The Ecuador attacker slid the ball past Manuel Neuer to get United on the board.

Gibson came right back five minutes later with a strike of his own that Neuer, a potential starting goalkeeper for Manchester United, botched as the ball went off his hands and into the back of the net.

In the second half, it was Anderson who delivered two rather simple goals, as the Red Devils poured in on against Schalke, a club with limited Champions League success.
