Airtricity League 2011 Fixtures Announced

The full list of fixtures for the 2011 Airtricity League season was revealed on Thursday afternoon and reigning champions Shamrock Rovers will begin the defence of their title with a home game against Dundalk.
The season starts on Friday March 4 and newly-promoted Derry City will hope to get their campaign off to the perfect start when they host Sligo Rovers, while Bray begin against Bohs, Galway United entertain St. Pat’s, and UCD will make the trip to Dalymount Park to face Sporting Fingal.
In week two, there will be a repeat of the 2010 FAI Cup final as winners Sligo Rovers take on Shamrock Rovers, whom they beat on penalties in last month’s final.
The first of the big Dublin Derbies between Bohs and Shamrock Rovers – two of the three most successful clubs in the history of the League of Ireland – will take place on Friday April 15, and the league will run until its conclusion on Friday October 28.
