Fantasy Football For Airtricity League
CATEGORIES: News | POSTED BY: Daniel Pitcher | May 27, 2010 at 5:28 pmIrish football fans now have the opportunity to experience the thrills of football management with the launch of the official Airtricity League Fantasy Football game. Starting from this Saturday, Airtricity League fans will be able to compete against each other to bring league glory to their team – not to mention a grand prize of €3,000!
The official Airtricity League Fantasy Football game gives you the chance to step into the shoes of an Airtricity League Premier Division football manager and take control of your very own Airtricity League team. You pick the players and make transfers in the quest for glory and some fantastic prizes. As well as a €3,000 prize for the overall winner, monthly prizes of tickets to see Republic of Ireland European Championship qualifying matches, as well as 2011 Airtricity League season tickets, will be on offer to the manager who accumulates the most points each month.
Entry into the official Airtricity League Fantasy Football game is easy – simply visit www.airtricityleague.com/fantasy and select your dream team from the Airtricity League Premier Division.
Unlike a simulated football management game, the players you select will score points based on what they do in real-life Airtricity League matches. The team that gains the most points over the course of the season will top the overall standings.
Players score points for goals and clean sheets, but if a player isn’t producing the goods on the pitch you can easily replace him by using one of your allocated transfers. At the start of the game – the game kicks off at 13:00 on Saturday 29th May – you are given 25 transfers to use over the course of the campaign so that you can make tactical changes or replace injured players.
As well as competing in the overall, and monthly, competitions you can also battle it out with your friends, colleagues and even your enemies in your very own Private League. This is where the real drama takes place as you compete against your friends for bragging rights in a league of your own.
