Andrews Dropped From Dublin Squad

Paddy Andrews has surprisingly been left out of the Dublin championship panel which won’t be finalised by manager Pat Gilroy until later this week.

The St Brigid’s clubman, who made his championship debut in 2008, has played in both defence and attack for the Metropolitans but did not feature for the county in this year’s National League. During that time, he helped DCU to win the Sigerson Cup, while only last week he did feature for Dublin in a challenge match against Cavan.

However, he now finds himself outside of Gilroy’s extended 40-man squad which will be trimmed ahead of Dublin’s encounter with Wexford on 13 June. It is also expected that Jason Sherlock will not feature in the summer campaign after a report in last Saturday’s Star newspaper claimed that Jason was ready to hang up his boots after not featuring for Dublin this year.
