Les Bleus Future Looks All White As Blanc Moves From Dauphin To King

Sportspeak sources have confirmed that Laurent Blanc is set to quit Bordeaux this summer to become the national coach of his native France. The former manchester United defender is set to replace the much derided Raymond domenech after this summer’s World Cup finals in South Africa. The French cheated their way into the finals via Thierry Henry’s handball winner against a plucky irish side in a Paris play off last November. Blanc was offered the job originally in the aftermath of the Stade de France controversy but chose to see out his contract with Bordeaux whom he has taken into the Champions’ League group stages. Blanc would be a populist choice to succeed Domenech who struggled to get Les Bleus to this summer’s finals after a patchy campaign which saw them just scrape through illegally against Giovanni Trappatoni’s men. Blanc is expected to be unveiled as French coach after their World Cup exit & is likely to be given a four year contract for the Euro 2012 & World Cup 2014 qualifiers. Blanc is expected to accept the job only if he is given complete control over all levels of the international set up at Clairfontaine & would likely blood the next generation of french stars during his tenure discarding many of the old guard immediately with the likes of Henry likely to be axed from his squads.
