Bohemians Vs Sligo Rovers Preview

CATEGORIES: League of Ireland, Preview, Soccer | POSTED BY: | March 26, 2010 at 10:17 am

Bohemians bring a 100 per cent record to their Friday clash with Sligo Rovers who have just one win in the league. But Sligo have yet to be beaten and have conceded no more than one goal in any match. A tight, competitive encounter looks on the cards.

Bohemians manager Pat Fenlon has had Sligo under observation this season and reckons “they will as strong as they were last year. They gave us tough matches last year and I don’t expect it to be any different this season.”

These two teams met seven times last season in three competitions, Bohemians winning four times, Sligo twice, with one draw. The familiarity between the sides is added to this season, as former Sligo star Raffaele Cretaro is becoming an important presence in the Bohemians attack and former Bohs star Joseph Ndo signed for Sligo this week in time to make his debut at Dalymount.

Fenlon says he is “delighted that Joseph is playing in the league. He is one of the best players to play in the league in my time. But I’ll be happy enough if he is not playing for Sligo on Friday.”

Fenlon has a number of injury concerns in the squad. Steven Gray’s ankle injury keeps him out, and Killian Brennan (ankle), Anto Murphy (shoulder) and Raffaele Cretaro (calf) will all be subject to late fitness tests.
