Beckham Set For International retirement

Sportspeak understands that David Beckham’s dreams of strolling off into the sunset after a successful World Cup in South Africa are just that- dreams.
The 108 times capped former England skipper has ripped an achilles tendon during a Serie A match for AC Milan. Beckham will retire from International football tied with the 66 World Cup winning skipper Bobby Moore as their most capped outfield player behind the great Peter Shilton’s 125 caps. Beckham will now face a lengthy period on the sidelines which will probably either curtail or completely kybosh any chance of playing a part in LA Galaxy’s 2010 season. It’s been a vintage year for Beckham with the Galaxy losing the US Championship final and another successful sojurn in Milan which culminated in a warm reception at Old Trafford as he faced his old team mates of Manchester United in the Champions League.
