The RBS Six Nations will take center stage on the sporting calender once again this afternoon, with all eyes on Croke Park as Ireland face Wales. Sportspeak’s Daniel “Pitchside” Pitcher has this report.

Games between Ireland and Wales have been epic contests in recent times and this year’s renewal promises to be no different. There’s always a huge number of sub-plots and side-shows to consider when these two sides meet – and you throw-in the fact that it’s Brian O’Driscoll’s 100th cap – or that it’s the first meeting of the teams since last year’s dramatic Grand Slam decider – or that there’s a Triple Crown and a possible championship on the line for Ireland.

And it’s clear that there’s plenty to play for at Croke Park this afternoon. Warren Gatland’s appointment as Wales coach has certainly added spice to this fixture and he’ll be eager to inflict another blow on his former IRFU employers today. With two defeats from three games so-far, Welsh hopes of a championship may be over – but Gatland knows that they’re still capable of a win…

- Not only will Ireland be playing for a shot at the Triple Crown and to keep their championship hopes alive. They’ll also be desperate to pick-up a win for their team leader and inspirational driving force. Brian O’Driscoll wins his 100th Ireland cap when he leads his team onto the field this afternoon. He doesn’t know what all the fuss is about…

- Kick-off at Croke Park is at half past two.
