With the backline impressing in attack Munster opened strong in their round 5 pool game against Benetton Treviso this afternoon, scoring four tries in the first half and another two in the second. First half tries from Denis Hurley, Keith Earls, Donncha O’Callaghan and Paul Warwick gave Munster a 23 point margin at the break, as they led 30-7 going in at halftime.

Treviso added their first points after 24 minutes with number 7 Alessandro Zanni scoring a try and Marius Goosen converting. The second half was a quieter affair and it was the 63rd minute before Keith Earls added his second try, with Donnacha Ryan also crossing the line just before the final whistle.

Once again the boot of O’Gara kept things ticking over as he added 2 penalties and 3 conversions, with Warwick kicking the final conversion. Munster come away with 5 points after today’s 44-7 win over Treviso.
