CATEGORIES: News | POSTED BY: | January 5, 2010 at 2:44 pm

The Carling Cup semi-final first leg between Manchester City and Manchester United at Eastlands has been postponed because of snow.

The pitch was playable, but Greater Manchester police advised that conditions were too treacherous for supporters travelling to the game.

The first leg will now take place on Tuesday, 19 January.

The second leg, which was originally scheduled for that date, will now take place on Wednesday, 27 January.

United’s home Premier League game against Hull and City’s trip to Stoke, due to be played on Tuesday, 26 January and Wednesday, 27 January respectively have been postponed as a result of the semi-final dates moving.

Normally, the Cup tie would have been rearranged for next Wednesday, but City are due to play Blackburn in a televised Premier League game on Monday.
