FAI Brought Before Oireactas While Collins Set For Cork City Gig

CATEGORIES: News, Soccer | POSTED BY: | December 17, 2009 at 10:11 am

The Football Association of Ireland were brought before the Oireactas Committee on Sport today to answer questions about the future of the League of Ireland. Chief Executive John Delaney revealed that the FAI intend to bring disrepute charges against Cork City Chairman Tom Coughlan as they continue their bid to clean-up the league.

Meanwhile, Coughlan’s bid to find a new manager at Turners Cross has taken another twist. Former Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers boss, Roddy Collins has resigned from his post with Maltese club Floriana. Collins’ decision will increase speculation that he could become the new boss in Cork after the club confirmed earlier this week that he had held talks with Coughlan.
