Vidic Added To Fergie’s Injury List

Nemanja Vidic has joined Wes Brown adding to the massive injury crisis for Manchester United after picking up a knock in the 3-0 win over Wolves on Tuesday night. Vidic suffered a calf strain which is almost certain to rule him out of Saturday’s trip to Craven Cottage. Wes Brown also faces a two-week lay-off after suffering a hamstring injury against Aston Villa on Saturday.

This latest injury means Michael Carrick will be forced to continue in central defence at Fulham, probably alongside 21-year-old rookie Ritchie de Laet who made his debut against Wolves. ‘Ritchie showed some promise and he will probably be there on Saturday,’ said Ferguson.

Sir Alex offered praise to Rooney, who scored his 13th club goal of the season and Valencia’s performance also drew plaudits from the boss. ‘Antonio is improving, there is no question about that,’ said Fergie
