Achilles Injury Rules Out Flannery

CATEGORIES: News, Rugby | POSTED BY: | December 14, 2009 at 12:05 pm

Jerry Flannery will miss next Sunday’s trip to Perpignan and the following weekend’s game against Connacht in Thomond Park Stadium. Flannery will have exploratory surgery on his Achilles injury tomorrow with Munster team manager Shaun Payne not prepared to speculate on when he may return to action.

“There has been a lot of speculation in the media over the weekend about this but realistically we have to wait until he has had the procedure before we can know for sure.” Payne said this morning.

Meanwhile, Munster report that all those involved on Friday night came through relatively unscathed and it’s expected Tony McGahan will name a full strength squad – Flannery and Marcus Horan excepted – for the trip to France at the weekend.
