World Cup 2010- Group G Is The Group Of Death
Nelson mandela got the draw underway and Becks & Charlize had a bit of a flirt, but Sportspeak says the group Of Death will be Group G.
Brazil are the headline act the 5 time winners may tune up with a visit to Croker in March to get ready to try and overcome perennial underacheivers Portugal, the highly fancied Ivory Coast and those brilliant minnows from 1966 who humbled the Italians-North Korea.
Our neighbours England will start their endless crowing early this time – no whinging with their draw, they face the USA,Algeria & Slovenia. Host South Africa got the team who cheated Ireland out of their place at the finals, France, Mexico & Uruguay-plenty of latin testosterone in that group.
Holders Italy will be happy with their draw as they face New Zealand,Slovakia & Paraguay. European Champions Spain have a jammy draw for once they face Honduras,Chile & Switzerland. Double World Champions Argentina take on Nigeria,South Korea & 2004 European Champions Greece. Germany will fancy their chances of serene progression into the knockout stages with Ghana,Serbia & Australia. Group E will favour the always fancied Dutch as they face Cameroon,Denmark &Japan which could be the tightest group bar the group of death.
The first round will no doubt be fascinating and the draw has thrown up some mouth watering ties- and plenty to debate about no doubt.
