Bray Wanderers v Sporting Fingal

CATEGORIES: League of Ireland, Preview, Soccer | POSTED BY: | November 16, 2009 at 4:41 pm

Bray Wanderers must overcome a two-goal disadvantage going into the second leg of the promotion/relegation playoff at the Carlisle Grounds tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.

Bray will be without Derek Pender who picked up a knee injury in the first leg in Santry. They may also have to plan without Gary McCabe who has an ankle injury and he will have a late fitness test. Dave Mulcahy returns to the squad after missing the first leg due to a family loss.

Alan Kirby and Gary O’Neill are progressing well in their battle to be fit for the game, The pair missed the 2-0 first-leg victory over the Seagulls at a rain-soaked Morton Stadium on Friday with foot and calf injuries respectively but could be available for the return match if they come through fitness tests. John Frost is still struggling with a hamstring strain, making him more of a doubt than both Kirby and O’Neill. Liam Buckley has no other injury worries or suspensions to contend with. Despite holding a two-goal cushion from the first 90 minutes, the manager is treating this game on its own merits.
