Aiden McGeady and Liam Lawrence will have to wait another 24 hours before they learn if they’ll be starting tomorrow’s World Cup play-off against France.
Ireland manager, Giovanni Trapattoni has confirmed ten members of his starting side, but won’t reveal who he intends to start on the right wing until closer to kick-off.Aiden McGeady or Liam Lawrence.
Lawrence had been favourite to take his place in the starting-lineup, it remains to be seen if McGeady gets the nod or whether it is a tactical move by the Italian to delay confirming a decision.
John O’Shea will stay at right-back, with the Ireland manager resisting the temptation to move the Manchester United man into midfield.
Ireland captain Robbie Keane says that the atmosphere at Croke Park could help to unnerve the French players, but Trap believes that it’s also going to require all of the Irish players to increase their performance levels…
