Giovanni Trappatoni has named the 25 man squad he hopes will take Ireland to South Africa next summer. Still no Andy Reid, but the more astonishing omission is that of Stephen Reid, despite the Blackburn star’s return to first team action with the Ewood Park outfit. Conspiracy theorists will point to Trap’s spat with Big Sam Allardyce over the midfielders fitness, but Trap’s not budging. Earlier today Sportspeak was present as the squad was unveiled at FAI HQ in Abbotstown.
