Chelsea to appeal Drogba & Bosingwa match bans
CATEGORIES: News | POSTED BY: Bob McKenzie | June 18, 2009 at 2:33 pmSportspeak understands that English Premiership side Chelsea are to appeal to UEFA after they were fined €100,000 for the behaviour of their players and fans as they were knocked out in a dramatic Champions’ League semi final to eventual winners Barcelona. Chelsea’s star striker Didier Drogba has been handed a six match ban with the final two matches suspended after he verbally abused the Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovredo. Jose Bosingwa is also suspended for 4 matches with one suspended after making comments in the aftermath of the controversial match.
